Carta di MEP dirigi na Valero: Stop dismantlement of the Aruba refinery
STOP DISMANTLEMENT OF THE ARUBA REFINERY
To Mr. Joseph Gorder
CEO Valero
Aruba, February 27, 2015
Dear Mr. Gorder,
By this means I inform you on behalf of the voters of the MEP-party in Aruba, we urge you to stop dismantling activities on the refinery premises.
The refinery is of vital importance for our country. It is not only a company, it provides jobs, it provides revenues for Aruba, it guarantees or foreign exchange position, and most of all it is currently the only alternative that can save us from hard tax increases the government has planned. That is why we have started a campaign “STOP DISMANTLEMENT”.
We know that there is still interest for taking over the refinery and we have urged the government of Aruba to assume a more aggressive position towards re-opening of the refinery.
A delegation of the people of Aruba will be at the gates of the refinery as of this evening, awaiting a positive reply,
Sincerely Yours,
Dr. Gerrit Croes, President of MEP
Evelyn Wever-Croes, Leader of MEP
